RICAIP Testbed Prague as a Gateway to Innovation
The Industry 4.0 Open Day, held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, showcased trends, visions, technological innovations, and practical solutions under the Industry 4.0 umbrella. This event, hosted at the RICAIP Testbed Prague within CIIRC CTU, welcomed nearly 200 directors and managers from manufacturing companies. Attendees engaged in discussions on digitalization, automation, and production optimization. The event was jointly organised by the National Centre for Industry 4.0 (NCP4.0), the Research and Innovation Centre on Advanced Industrial Production RICAIP and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CIIRC CTU).
According to the latest Analysis of the Czech Industry 2024 by NCP4.0, the top priorities for industrial companies are speeding up product launches, improving quality, and adapting to changing customer requirements. The Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) assessed the digital performance of European SMEs and found that Czech companies were slightly below the European average in 2022. In 2023, their performance improved somewhat but still did not meet the European average. However, there was a significant 20% increase in IT experience among Czech enterprises, indicating a clear move towards digitization
Pavel Burget, the Director of the RICAIP Testbed Prague at CIIRC CTU explains, “We offer customized solutions for companies, covering everything from research and innovation to consultations and preparing documents for integrating solutions into production.”
He adds, “For instance, we can assist in developing models for autonomous robot decision-making for specific production tasks and safely test them before a company invests significant resources in implementation. Additionally, we help remove other barriers, such as training workers to adopt and effectively use new technologies.”
